Diarmid Heidenreich has been a familiar face on Australian television for more than 20 years. He first came to national recognition as Dougie in the famous Pizza Hut commercials. He has also starred in many popular shows such as Home & Away, GP, Echo Point, McLeod’s Daughters, The Cut and memorably as Senior Constable Matthew Quinn in Water Rats. Diarmid also featured in the 2006 film, The Great Raid, starring Joseph Fiennes and Benjamin Bratt.
In recent years, Diarmid gained prominance as crooked cop Detective Seargent Eddie “Parrot” Gould in Underbelly III: The Golden Mile. This lead to numerous guest roles on popular shows such as Sea Patrol, Wild Boys, Packed to the Rafters, Bikie Wars: Brother in Arms and Janet King. Diarmid recently filmed a part in the upcoming cult British film The Inbetweeners II.
Along with a long list of theatre credits, Diarmid is also a talented producer and director. His short films Tailor Made and Waderra have been well‐received at both national and international film festivals such as The International Portable Film Festival, Coffee And Cigarettes International Film Festival, Dungog Film Festival, and the Montreal World Film Festival. Diarmid also worked as a producer on the feature film, Love of my Life, in which he played the lead role.
Diarmid currently lives in Sydney, Australia, with his journalist wife, Genevieve Quigley and his two children, Ivory and Jasper. When he’s not acting, you can find Diarmid surfing waves or tinkering on his 1970 Chrysler Valiant.
